Las Vegas, NV ~ November 2, 2003 ~ ParkerStores driver Donny Schatz attended the World of Outlaws Championship Banquet Sunday evening in Las Vegas to celebrate a very successful 2003 season.  The North Dakota driver scored 12 victories, his personal best in WoO competition and supported the wins with 30 top-five finishes and 50 runs in the top-ten.   In addition to collecting the prizes for finishing fifth in both driver and owner final point standings, Schatz received the 2003 Hard Charger Award from Greg Stephens' Motorsport Video.  To win the award, drivers accumulated points for the number of cars passed in competition throughout the season.    At the podium to receive award from Stephens, Schatz quipped, "You should rename this thing the 'You Really Suck at Qualifying' Award" making reference to his capturing only two poles for the season.   Team owner Danny Schatz joined the ParkerStores driver on stage to receive the season ending point standings awards for owner and driver.   "We couldn't do this without the tremendous support we receive from our sponsors," said the elder Schatz.   "We would especially like to thank ParkerStores, Blue Beacon Truck Washes, Bellerud Trucking, J & J Racing Chassis and Shaver Engines.  Their support gives us the ability to build the best cars to put on the track and are the reason we are so competitive."   "This has been my best season yet in the World of Outlaws," said the young driver.  "I want to congratulate Steve (Kinser) on the tremendous season he and his team had to win his 18th championship but I want him to know that I did enjoy the heck out of beating him Saturday night.  I hope we have many more races like that next season."   Joining the Schatz family at the season-ending gala was ParkerStores executive, Brad Fischer and his guests from Nevada ParkerStores locations.  Also on hand was crew chief Tyler Swank and his fiancee Mary and tire specialist Chad Lambert.  Engine specialist David Yingst and his wife Mary were unable to attend either the weekend racing event nor the banquet due to the sudden death in the family.   For the latest news and merchandise information on Donny Schatz and the ParkerStores team, log on to
