Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Preview: Princeton Speedway

Princeton, MN -- October 1, 2008--Just two events remain on ¼-mile tracks this season for the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, with the first of those coming this Saturday, October 4 at Princeton Speedway in Minnesota as the series invades the always racy high-banked bullring for the PolyDome Princeton National.

The ¼-mile has been hosting the series since 2004 and in the four A-Feature events contested at the track four drivers have picked up victories. The event will mark the final stop of the season for the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in the upper Midwest.

Donny Schatz was victorious for the first time in his career at Princeton Speedway last season. In eight career starts at the high-banked ¼-mile he has eight Top-10 finishes. He leads the World of Outlaws with 14 A-Feature wins this season, including two on ¼-mile tracks as he chases his third consecutive series title.

Jason Meyers, who is second in the World of Outlaws championship standings, has four career Top-10 finishes at Princeton Speedway, including a runner-up performance in his debut at the track in 2004. The California native has won nine times this season, including twice on ¼-mile tracks and leads the World of Outlaws in laps led and Top-Five finishes as he chases his first series title.

Joey Saldana finished second in the PolyDome Princeton National last season. He has six Top-10 finishes in seven starts at the track dating back to 2004. He has won five times this season and is currently third in points on the strength of 41 Top-10 finishes.

Craig Dollansky, who is helping promote the PolyDome Princeton National with his wife Julie, will not compete in the event after sustaining a compound fracture to his upper right arm on September 19 at Eldora Speedway. The native of nearby Elk River, Minnesota finished seventh in the race last season.

Steve Kinser, the 20-time Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion won at Princeton Speedway in 2005 and has Top-10 finishes in each of his three visits to the track. He has won six times this season and is currently fourth in points on the strength of 40 Top-10 finishes.

Jac Haudenschild who has been one of the most consistent drivers over the second-half of the season has four career Top-10 finishes at Princeton Speedway, including two runner-up performances. He won on a ¼-mile earlier at Silver Dollar Speedway during the finale of the $50,000 Gold Cup Race of Champions at the beginning of September. He recently picked up his 50th career A-Feature win with the World of Outlaws. He has won four times this season and is just outside of the Top-Five in points.

Kerry Madsen, the reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, finished third in his debut at Princeton Speedway last season. The native of St. Mary's, NSW, Australia is currently seventh in points on the strength of 35 Top-10 finishes as he closes in on his first win of the season.

Chad Kemenah, who wore the rookie crown in 2006, finished 10th at Princeton Speedway in 2006. The four-time All Star Circuit of Champions title winner has 33 Top-10 finishes this season as he also closes in on his first win of the season.

Terry McCarl, who recently won his first race of the season, has three Top-10 finishes in just a handful of starts at Princeton Speedway in his career. The six-time Knoxville Raceway and Huset's Speedway track champion is solidly in the ninth spot in the series standings on the strength of 25 Top-10 finishes.

Daryn Pittman, who has won four times this season, swept the PolyDome Princeton National in 2006. He finished eighth in the event last season. The native of Owasso, Oklahoma has 28 Top-10 finishes this season.

Sam Hafertepe Jr. made his first visit to Princeton Speedway last season. He recently matched his season best finish with a third-place run at Lebanon Valley Speedway in New York. The sophomore driver from Sunnyvale, Texas has 16 Top-10 finishes this season and is just outside of the Top-10 in the series standings.

Kraig Kinser, the 2004 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, has four career Top-10 finishes at Princeton Speedway, including Top-Five performances in his first two starts at the track in 2004. He won earlier this season at Grays Harbor Raceway in Washington, as he continues his first season driving for Tony Stewart Racing.

Jason Sides, who was the series top rookie in 2003, has made four starts in his career at Princeton Speedway. The native of Bartlett, Tennessee has 16 Top-10 finishes this season as he closes in on his first win of the campaign.

Tony Bruce Jr. has competed with the World of Outlaws each of the last two seasons at Princeton Speedway. The sophomore driver from Liberal, Kansas won his first career series race earlier this season at 34 Raceway in Iowa.

Chad Hillier, who is also in his second full season with the World of Outlaws, finished a very solid 11th in his second visit to Princeton Speedway this season. The native of Burlington, Washington has five Top-10 finishes this season as he closes in on the Top-15 in points.

Lucas Wolfe, who is in his first full season on the road with the World of Outlaws, will make his debut at Princeton Speedway on Saturday, October 4. He recently picked up a season-best third-place finish at Orange County Fair Speedway in New York.

Paul McMahan has four Top-10 finishes at Princeton Speedway during his career. The California native, who now calls Nashville home, has picked up 14 Top-10 finishes this season as he chases his first win of the year.

Brooke Tatnell, who is filling in for the injured Craig Dollansky, won a preliminary feature at Princeton Speedway in 2005. He has six Top-10 finishes in seven starts with the series at the track.

What to look for at Princeton Speedway:

*Donny Schatz won last season at Princeton Speedway. He has eight Top-10 finishes in his career at the track in the same number of starts. He leads the World of Outlaws with 14 A-Feature wins this season and has won twice on ¼-miles earlier this season at Riverside International Speedway in Arkansas and Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon.

*Daryn Pittman swept the Princeton PolyDome National in 2006, winning both the preliminary feature and the A-Feature. He has won four times this season.

*Steve Kinser won at the track in 2005 and has Top-10 finishes in all of his starts at the track. The 20-time series champion has won six times this season, and is just one victory shy of the 550 career A-Feature win mark.

*Craig Dollansky who won the World of Outlaws inaugural visit to the track in 2004 and hails from nearby Elk River, Minnesota, will miss the event after sustaining a compound fracture to his upper right arm at Eldora Speedway on September 19, which required surgery. He is again promoting the event this season with his wife Julie.

*Jason Meyers continues to battle Donny Schatz for the top spot in the World of Outlaws standings. With nine events remaining in 2008, he is 116 points out of the lead as he chases his first series title. The California native has won nine times, including twice on ¼-mile tracks this year and leads the series in laps led and Top-Five finishes.

*Joey Saldana finished second last season at Princeton Speedway and has six Top-10 finishes in seven career starts at the ¼-mile. He has won five times this season driving for NASCAR star Kasey Kahne.

*Terry McCarl was the most recent World of Outlaws winner, taking the checkered flag at Orange County Fair Speedway in New York on September 24. He has three career Top-10 finishes at Princeton Speedway.

*Brooke Tatnell who calls nearby Bloomington, Minnesota home will look for his second win at the track as he continues to fill in for the injured Craig Dollansky.
