World of Outlaws Championship Points Tighten After Eldora

Joey Saldana used his 12th A-Feature win of the season Friday night in the opener of the American Revolution Weekend Presented by Chevrolet at Eldora Speedway to cut Donny Schatz's lead in the championship standings to 35 markers with 10 points paying events remaining on the 2007 calendar.

Saldana has 59 Top-10 finishes on the season, while Schatz has 16 A-Feature wins and 62 Top-10 finishes.

Danny Lasoski remains third in points on the strength of five A-Feature wins and 42 Top-10 finishes. Daryn Pittman used a fourth-place finish on Friday night to move into the fourth spot in the championship points, just 28 markers behind Lasoski.

Jason Meyers is fifth in points on the strength of four A-Feature wins and 43 Top-10 finishes. He is just 12 points of out fourth. Steve Kinser is sixth in points with nine A-Feature wins and 45 Top-10 finishes and is just 30 points out of the Top-Five.

Craig Dollansky remains seventh in points, with Paul McMahan eighth, Jason Solwold ninth and Tim Shaffer 10th.

Kerry Madsen continues to lead the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award standings.

The next scheduled broadcast for the World of Outlaws on SPEED will be Sunday, September 23 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern, 12:30 p.m. Central, with the 54th Annual Gold Cup Race of Champions.

The World of Outlaws return to action on Wednesday, September 26 at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New York.
