Jones pumped and set to Challenge the Outlaws this weekend!
(April 29, 2005 Knoxville, IA) Young Des Moines native and weekly Knoxville 410 rookie Michael Jones has one word to describe how he feels about this weekend, "PUMPED!" The youngster and his team have been looking forward to this weekend since they decided to contend for the 410 championship at Knoxville on a weekly basis. The team knows that they will have to step up quite a bit if they are to make the feature and run with the best of the best.
"Last weekend was not indicative of how this team can perform." said Jones, "I made a few mistakes but the key to that is learning from them and not making them again. These guys come to our track twice a year and then for the nationals, we have to be on our game to run with them. It is great because you are on a very fast learning curve and what I learn this weekend will carry over throughout the season. These are the guys I used to watch and now we are racing against them, that is pretty coooool."
The driver of the RentZero/Rod End Supply/Simpson/Knees Signs/Maxim Chassis #1a is realistic in his goals for this weekend.
"We have high expectations each time we race but we are also realistic." Jones continued. "This is a new deal for me with these 410's so our goal is to qualify in the top 20, and scratch and claw into the A main. We also want to keep the car in one piece..lol. Hey we have as good a shot at getting in the A as anybody here, I know the track and what the car needs it is just a matter of execution."
