Dirt Late Models will join World of Outlaws Sprint Cars for NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
LAS VEGAS -- Dirt late models will run as a companion event with the famed World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series on Thursday, March 9 and Friday, March 10. The events will coincide with the annual NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
"We're excited to once again host dirt late model racing at the Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway," said Chris Blair, LVMS' senior director of dirt track operations. "Our last dirt late model event in 2005 produced some of the greatest racing ever held on the dirt track, with lots of passing and multiple lead changes. It was an incredible show that will be even better when combined with the excitement of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series."
The dirt late model races are independent and not sanctioned. Each evening's racing program will consist of qualifying races and a $3,000 to-win, 30-lap feature event.
"The popularity of dirt late model racing has seen tremendous growth in the southwest over the last three years," Blair explained. "We felt it was time to showcase these incredible machines on our biggest weekend of the year along with the greatest winged sprint-car series in America."
