SuperClean Summer of Money Continues With Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup

The "SuperClean Summer of Money" for the World of Outlaws on ESPN2 continues on Tuesday, July 17 at the storied Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania with the 16th Annual Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup.

Donny Schatz was victorious in the event last year which pays $30,000 to the winner, and is fresh off his first career win in the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway on Saturday night. In the World of Outlaws last visit to Lernerville Speedway in May, the reigning series champion started 25th in the A-Feature and charged to a very solid ninth-place finish. In the 44 events that have been contested this season, the native of Fargo, North Dakota has 40 Top-10 finishes. He leads the series with 10 A-Feature wins, along with seven wins in the Crane Cams Dash to earn the same number of pole positions.

In the World of Outlaws first visit of the season to the high-banked 0.4-mile facility, Steve Kinser dominated the event, leading all 35 laps to earn his 16th career victory at the track. The 20-time series champion has eight A-Feature wins in 2007, to go along with 28 Top-10 finishes. He won the Knight Before the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway last Friday night.

Tim Shaffer won the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup in 2005 at his home track, the last year he competed in the event. The native of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania won the track championship at Lernerville Speedway in 1993 and went on to claim the World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award in 1999. This season, he has 18 Top-10 finishes, with 11 of those being in the Top-Five.

Joey Saldana finished second at Lernerville in May and was sixth last season in the Silver Cup. He set fast time with a strong field of nearly 40 cars in attendance. The 1996 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year is currently second in championship points with the World of Outlaws on the strength of nine A-Feature wins.

Danny Lasoski finished fifth earlier this season at Lernerville Speedway. The 2001 World of Outlaws champion has three A-Feature wins on the season and is third in championship points.

Jason Meyers finished third at Lernerville in May and just recently jumped into the fourth spot in championship points. The native of Clovis, California has three A-Feature wins on the season. He finished second on Saturday night in the Kings Royal.

Daryn Pittman finished third last season in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. The native of Owasso, Oklahoma and former World of Outlaws Gumout Series champion has three A-Feature wins this season, including in the second event of the "SuperClean Summer of Money" at Dodge City Raceway Park in Kansas.

Craig Dollansky finished fourth last season in the Silver Cup. The native of Elk River, Minnesota earned his 28th Top-10 finish of the season at the Kings Royal. He is seventh in championship points heading into the Silver Cup.

Paul McMahan heads to Lernerville with two A-Feature wins on the season. The native of California who now calls Nashville home won at Eldora Speedway in June and at Cedar Lake Speedway in Wisconsin to open the month of July. He is eighth in championship points as he continues his second season driving for two-time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart.

Jac Haudenschild won his second A-Feature of the season on July 11 in the Brad Doty Classic and that moved him into the ninth spot in points. He finished ninth last season in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. The native of Wooster, Ohio has 46 career A-Feature wins with the World of Outlaws, which has him tied for ninth on the all-time list.

Jason Solwold finished eighth earlier this season at Lernerville Speedway. He is currently 10th in points on the strength of 23 Top-10 finishes, with eight of those being in the Top-Five. He finished fourth in the Kings Royal on Saturday night.

Terry McCarl finished seventh last season in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. He earned two Top-Five finished last weekend at Eldora Speedway in the Knight Before the Kings Royal and the Kings Royal. The six-time Knoxville Raceway and Huset's Speedway champion won at Knoxville in the first event of the "SuperClean Summer of Money" and enters this week just outside of the Top-10 in championship points.

Jason Sides, the 2003 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year passed 11 cars in his last visit to Lernerville Speedway in May. The native of Bartlett, Tennessee has 13 Top-10 finishes on the season.

Kerry Madsen the current rookie leader, made his first appearance of his career at Lernerville in May. The native of St. Mary's, NSW, Australia has one A-Feature win on the season to go along with 10 Top-10 finishes.

Randy Hannagan, the 1995 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year, finished in the Top-15 of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup last season. He has five Top-10 finishes this season beginning the second East Coast swing of the season this week.

Justin Henderson of South Dakota finished in the Top-15 in the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup last season. He finished a career-best third at Cedar Lake Speedway in Wisconsin on July 1.

Chad Kemenah the reigning Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year will make his fifth start for Hard 8 Racing in the Silver Cup. He finished ninth in the Kings Royal on Saturday to earn his eighth Top-10 finish of the season.

Chad Hillier, another of the contenders for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award made his first start at Lernerville back in May. He is currently second in the rookie points as he continues his first full season on the road with the World of Outlaws.

Jeremy Campbell finished 12th last season in his first Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup. The native of Monroe, Michigan is currently 19th in championship points and has three Top-10 finishes on the season.

Tony Bruce Jr. heads to Lernerville Speedway third in the rookie points and 20th overall in the championship standings. He finished fourth on July 7 at I-55 Raceway in Missouri.

Brooke Tatnell finished eighth in the Silver Cup last season. He missed the event at the track in May, after returning to his native Australia to be with his family during the passing of his father.

Sam Hafertepe Jr. one of the contenders for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award finished 11th earlier this season in his first ever trip to Lernerville. In that event, he earned a spot in the Crane Cams Dash, where he finished second.

Also in action on Tuesday, July 17 will be Jason Martin of Kansas, veteran Dion Hindi of New Mexico and Brian Carlson of Indiana, who grew up in the shadows of Lernerville Speedway.

Rookie Zach Chappell of Oklahoma will miss the event as he continues to recover from a left knee injury sustained earlier this month.

The Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup which is the fifth race of the "SuperClean Summer of Money" on ESPN2 for the World of Outlaws will be broadcast on Sunday, July 22 at Noon Eastern, 11 a.m. Central.

NASCAR star and World of Outlaws team owner, Kasey Kahne will serve as the Grand Marshal of the event.

On Tuesday, July 17 at Lernerville Speedway for the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup, adult general admission tickets will be $29, with general admission tickets for seniors $26, admission tickets for those ages 11-17 will be $24, and kids 10-under free.

Reserved tickets for adults will be $32, with reserved tickets for seniors $29 and reserved seats for those ages 17-under will be $27.
