LAS VEGAS - The O'Reilly World of Outlaws rolls into Las Vegas for the 2003 Las Vegas Finals at the half-mile dirt track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Friday and Saturday.
The two-day series finale is the last chance for sprint-car fans to enjoy the mud-slinging, high-powered race action this season.
Steve Kinser is poised to clinch his 18th series championship, while Danny "The Dude" Lasoski, Joey Saldana and Daryn Pittman battle for the other top positions in the World of Outlaws standings.
Kinser will be looking for his third win in Las Vegas and his second straight season-ending victory at Las Vegas. Kinser, Lasoski and Jeff Swindell have two career A-feature wins at LVMS. They trail all-time Las Vegas winner Mark Kinser, who has three career wins. Mark Kinser, who won the inaugural event in 1996, has not won in Las Vegas since 1998. <pre> The schedule is as follows for both days: 5 p.m. Spectator gates open 6 p.m. Practice 6:30 p.m. Qualifying (2 laps per car) 7:15 p.m. Heat races (8 laps) 8:15 p.m. C-Main (if needed) 8:45 p.m. Dashes (2 races, 5 laps each) 9:10 p.m. B-Main (12 laps) 9:40 p.m. A-Main ( 35 laps)
