Rain Cancels World of Outlaws Shoot-Out Finale At Knoxville

Knoxville, IA -- June 25, 2005 -- After 23 cars completed time trials for the A-feature of the World of Outlaws Mediacom Shoot-Out Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway, the skies opened up with a fierce rain and wind storm that forced the cancellation of the second and final night of the event.

The finishing order from the preliminary feature Friday night will stand as the official results for the event so Kraig Kinser, who held off Paul McMahan, will be credited with his fourth feature victory of the season. McMahan was second on Friday night, followed by Sammy Swindell, Terry McCarl and Steve Kinser.

The World of Outlaws close out the month on June 28 at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D., before spending the Independence Day Weekend racing July 1-2 in the Duel in the Dakotas at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., July 4 at Cedar Lake Speedway in Somerset, Wis., July 6 at The Raceway at Powercom Park in Beaver Dam, Wis., and July 8 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill., where the series will be racing in conjunction with the NASCAR event at Chicagoland Speedway.

The Outdoor Channel will air on June 29 the race run on June 9 at I-96 Speedway. All of the action from the Eagle Nationals will air at 8 p.m. (ET) on July 6 on The Outdoor Channel.
