Rain Sweeps World of Outlaws Weekend

The rain just keeps coming this spring, and knocked out another World of Outlaws Sprint Series event, this time on Saturday night at K-C Raceway near Chillicothe, Ohio.

With hot laps barely under way, the rain intensified and forced officials to postpone the Ohio Challenge II, which pitted the Mean 15 racers against the All Star Circuit of Champions. It was the second night in a row a World of Outlaws event had to be postponed after rain also forced officials to call off Friday's race at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio.

Officials are working to find a make-up date for the event. Fans with tickets can send them, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope, for a full refund to K-C Raceway; 340 Baily Chapel Rd.; Piketon, OH 45661.

The Ohio Challenge II is the sixth World of Outlaws event to be postponed by rain since April 21. A rainout at Huset's Speedway already has been made up, but the opener to the City of Lawrenceburg Sprint Nationals originally scheduled for April 21 at Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway will be run on July 7 and Budweiser Night originially scheduled for April 29 at Knoxville Raceway was rescheduled to Oct. 7. The Wichita Twister Showdown scheduled for May 6 at 81 Speedway in Wichita and Friday night's event at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, also succumbed to rain, with make-up dates still being determined.
