Kinser clinches 18th title as Outlaws cancel Houston race.

BAYTOWN, TX (October 25) -- Steve Kinser clinched his 18th O'Reilly World of Outlaws Series championship Saturday when inclement weather forced series officials to cancel the $51,600 event at Houston Raceway Park.

The defending series champion opened a 153-point advantage over Danny Lasoski Friday by winning the "A" Feature at Lone Star Speedway. Lasoski, who won the 2001 series championship, cannot catch "The King of the Outlaws" in the point standings in the season finale at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway event even if he wins both feature races and Kinser receives show-up points.
