Hodnett signs with Selma Shell #11

JD Kramer, Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Promotions for TWO WINNERS RACING reports that unfortunately, the TW Race team will only field one car for the '96 World of Outlaws season, with Jeff Swindell returning to pilot the 7tw.
The possibility of not running the 8tw in '96 with Hodnett was discussed at the conclusion of the season, due to the lack of corporate funding (sponsorship) available within the WoO series. The addition of the live television races has not yet taken it's effect in the eyes of "corporate America", leaving TW Racing in a position without sufficient funding for the multi-car team.
JD Kramer noted "We have really enjoyed having Greg in our car these past two years, but we did not want to just put a car out on the racetrack without feeling it was able to win races. We want what is best for Greg, and we only felt that we could put together a mediocre motor program for him, so we gave him plenty of time to locate a team for '96."
Hodnett agreed with their train of thought, as being in that type of situation could prove frustrating. He has signed with the Selma-Shell sponsored #11 that Steve Kent has driven for the past couple of years. Kevin Huntley drove the car near the end of '95, but things did not seem to work out between the two parties. The Selma-Shell team is not committed to running the entire WoO season, but will pick and choose races in several sanctioning bodies (WoO, All-Stars, NCRA, etc,).
JD stressed to us that the TW Racing team wish to "express our sorrow that this had to happen, and that we did all we could to avoid the split", and that they were still in the process of attempting to secure funding for the 8tw car with theview of putting Hodnett back in the car.
