Gumout Series steers clear of Kings Royal.

TIFFIN, OH (May 15) -- The World of Outlaws Gumout Series has postponed one race and canceled another to allow its drivers to race in the Kings Royal, one of sprint car racing's richest events.

The Winner Speedway event scheduled for July 20th has been moved to July 13th and the July 19th event at Butler County Speedway has been canceled.

"We won't require our drivers to race at the Kings Royal," Gumout Series Director of Operations Rick Ferkel said. "This will allow them to compete in one of sprint car racing's classic events and gain some exposure with the new Speed Channel television package."

The Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series will sanction the 19th Annual Kings Royal, scheduled for July 20th at Eldora Speedway. Mark Kinser claimed the $50,000 first prize a year ago.
