** World of Outlaws: Goodyear tires were the recurring theme in three straight nights of racing as Goodyear Eagle users collected two victories and seven top-five finishes.

Jeff Shepard won a preliminary main event at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. Two nights later, Stevie Smith finished first at I55 Speedway in Pevely, Mo.

Shepard dominated on his way to victory. He was the quick qualifier, won his heat race and won the Channellock Dash before winning the main event. "This Wirtgen America Maxim and Goodyear tires were great tonight," Shepard said.

In all, four Goodyear teams finished in the top 10. Tim Shaffer took fifth, Donny Schatz was seventh and Smith came home ninth.

A night later Schatz and Shaffer finished second and third, respectively, while Dale Blaney finished seventh and Smith and Shepard were eighth and 10th.

Smith's victory at I55 came after he managed to slip by Steve Kinser on the final lap. The victory was the third of the season for Smith and his second career win at I55. Goodyear's Donny Schatz finished third, Tim Shaffer was fourth, Mark Kinser took sixth and Jac Haudenschild was 10th.
