A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION CAN LEAD TO A BETTER TEAM FOR ELITE RACING

New Year's resolutions can be about more than just eating healthier, losing weight and exercising more.

Simply changing a few habits or motivations can help a team set goals together, command a higher sense of teamwork, pride and pull together to win a World of Outlaws Sprint Car championship.

Elite Racing fan's have high hopes as a championship contender for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and for driver Jason Meyers in the new year. Meyers' 2009 year started out strong and finished second in the championship point standings. But this past December has been eventful for Meyers' and the entire Elite Racing team which will set the stage for a successful upcoming year.

Elite Racing shares the team's personal ritualistic decrees of New Year's resolutions. It involved a handful of team members, who could benefit from a resolution or two. And if they can't keep their promises, always next year.

Jason Meyers, Driver

"I am going to work harder on maintaining my fitness and health while on the road. For the past year and a half, I have spent a lot of time in the gym but that gets put aside when we are on the road and our eating habits tend to slip as well. This year I hope to not only maintain my health and fitness that I have established over the winter, but also to improve it while on the road."

DJ Lindsey, Crew Chief

"In 2010, my goal is to lose 10 pounds in an effort to improve my health and physical endurance. I love what I do and I think that being in better shape will make me an even better team member to Elite Racing".

Brian Bloomfield, Team Member - Tires

"In the New Year, my goal is to work on my organizational habits. We have a saying in our team that "everything has a place" and I am going to work hard to improve my habits of keeping up with that idea and doing everything I can to make our team better."

Glen Beaton, Team Member

"I have recently moved into a new apartment near the new shop in Brownsburg, Indiana. I am hoping to come home for lunch and dinner, and not eating out as much as I do now, that way I am eating healthier, and polishing up on my cooking skills while saving money at the same time."

Chris Luck, Managing General Partner

"My resolution is to be a better owner by having a better understanding on the challenges our team is facing and help lead them with the rest of our team to identify and solve problems we may be facing as quickly as possible. To work harder helping our sponsors and partners see their return on investment by being a part of our team and help every area of our competition side be better, engine shop, chassis, aerodynamics, crew, driver and ownership group."

Guy Stockbridge, Managing General Partner

"React quicker and smarter, and follow my instincts in those situations. And love my family like there is no tomorrow - this is my recipe for success in work, racing and life!"

Rene North, SVP Operations

"Same as everyone else, win a championship! I am going to keep working to improve processes within the team by continuing to understand how the team plans & communicates, and finding the right technology to apply to the solution. In my sophomore season with the team, I am still learning a number of the details on the inner workings of our team and the World Of Outlaws Sprint Car series, and look forward to the challenge!"

Charlie Garrett, Garrett's Racing Engines

"I am going to make a pact with myself to take 5-10 minutes everyday to reflect on and appreciate the many wonderful things that I have in my life including my family, my friends, my health, my dog, and my race team."
