POINTS BATTLE REMAINS CLOSE AS SEASON NEARS END

Jason Meyers and the Elite Racing team set out to do one thing this season, win the World of Outlaw Championship. With only 3 races remaining on the 2009 World of Outlaws racing schedule, Meyers sits in the 2nd position, only 18 points back from 3-time and defending champion Donny Schatz.

Meyers is coming off a 5th place finish at Rolling Wheels Speedway in Elbridge, NY this past weekend. Meyers piloted the #14 GLR KPC to quick time for the 10th time this season, earning 5 valuable points, 2 more than 3rd fastest Schatz. Meyers went on to run 2nd in the first heat race and 5th in the Crane Cams dash lining him up inside the 3rd row for the A main. Meyers appeared to struggle early in the race fading as far back as 8th place before mounting a late race charge back to the 5th position where he would finish. Meyers quick time and 5th place finish netted him a 4 point loss to championship leader Donny Schatz who finished 2nd.

"We aren't out of this thing yet. To be honest, it's just going to come down to who gets the breaks in these final 3 races," stated Meyers. "Both teams are running strong and with only 3 races left, it should be very exciting. Unfortunately we had a slow start to this season which almost took us completely out of the championship, but we have turned it around in the second half of the year and momentum is on our side. With 3 races to go, we are going to give it everything we have got. The rest will be up to God."

The Elite Racing team will return to their Brownsburg, IN facility this week to prepare for the final three races, and continue preparation for the 2010 season. Next up on the schedule for Elite Racing is the October 24th event at Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, TX.

MEYERS EARNS HARD CHARGER AWARD PASSING 3 CARS

The season is nearing its end and with only 3 point's night's left to capture the title, it is time to make a move. Meyers and the Elite Racing team competed in battle at the Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, TX this past weekend looking to close the gap betweeen the DDNi #14 and points leader Donny Schatz. Meyers was first out to qualify and laid down the quickest time of the night so far, but as the track continued to clean off it was only a matter of time before the times picked up. In the last 10 cars, 6 cars beat out Meyers' time pushing him back to 7th. Meyers went on to win the 1st heat race and then draw the 7 pill for the Crane Cams Dash. The dash race saw very little passing and Meyers was unable to advance.

Lining up 7th in the A main, Meyers charged to the bottom on the start making an amazing move all the way to 5th position and then circled Jason Sides around the top of turns 1 and 2 to take 4th position. Meyers raced nose to tail for the remainder of the race with 2nd and 3rd place, but could not find a way around. On a late race restart coming on lap 23, Meyers pulled next to Steve Kinser down the back shoot, but was unable to complete the pass.

Meyers finished 4th, two spots in front of points leader Schatz, but still would yield one point overall due to Schatz's qualifying effort. Meyers will now head to Lowes Motor Speedway only 19 points away from winning his first World of Outlaws Championship.
