Channellock to Sponsor Williams Grove Event MEADVILLE, PA (March 31) - Channellock, Inc., the Western Pennsylvania-based manufacturer and marketer of precision quality tools, is expanding its support of the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series. Channellock has reached agreement with the World of Outlaws to sponsor the Channellock Spring Classic scheduled for May 22-23 at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA. This sponsorship increases Channellock's involvement with the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series, recognized as the premier circuit for open-wheel sprint car racing. The company serves as primary sponsor of series legend Sammy Swindell's #1 Channellock Gambler sprint car. In addition, Channellock sponsors the series' Fast-Time and Mechanic of the Year awards, and has been designated as Official Tool of the World of Outlaws. "Channellock's decision to sponsor the Williams Grove event and further its involvement in the sport shows great confidence in Pennzoil World of Outlaws racing," series President Ted Johnson said. "We're proud of the support Channellock has demonstrated in the strength of our series to help market their high quality products." Channellock is equally pleased with the association and for the new Channellock Spring Classic title sponsorship. "We're proud of our Pennsylvania heritage," noted Bill DeArment, Channellock President and CEO, "and equally proud that our first effort at title sponsorship will be occurring in our home state at the prestigious Williams Grove Speedway." The Channellock Spring Classic will be a double-feature event and will attract thousands of fans. The Friday, May 23rd, event will be televised nationally on TNN: The Nashville Network, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. eastern time. Since 1886, Channellock has been designing and manufacturing precision quality tools in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The Channellock name and trademark stem from the company's 1933 invention of the revolutionary tongue-and-groove plier. Refined and improved over the years, they set the standard for tongue and groove and solid joint pliers. WoO
