Brandon Wimmer To Run Full World Of Outlaws Schedule in 2005
Gas City, IN (October 22, 2004) It is said that your senior year of High School is one you never forget. Eighteen year-old Brandon Wimmer will certainly remember his. Brandon spent the summer between his Junior and Senior year racing against the best sprint car drivers in the world. Now he is back to his Academic Honors studies at Mississinewa High School in Gas City, IN. completing his education. But thanks to some cooperation from his High School, when February rolls around, Wimmer will be off to Australia to kick off his quest for the World of Outlaws "Rookie of the Year" award. And if that is not enough excitement for this exceptional young man, he will be doing it with a new team, crew chief and sponsors.
"So much has happened in the last three weeks," says Wimmer. "I raced for my Grandfather last summer and we were preparing to do the same next season." Brandon's Grandfather is none other than Tom Wimmer. Tom owns "Two Winners Racing", a team that featured such drivers as Jeff Swindell, Dale Blaney, Greg Hodnet and Joe Gaerte. Wimmer has now teamed with Chris Luck to form Wimmer-Luck Motorsports. The team will be based out of Rochester, Indiana and will continue to run the familiar 7tw number.
"We are excited at the prospect of partnering with a gentleman like Tom Wimmer and being a part of forming this talented young mans career", says Chris Luck. "This is a win-win situation for everyone involved". Luck and his company Geringer, Luck and Rode Investments LLC of Scotts Valley, California, has been team sponsors for the past five seasons with the 1X car of Randy Hannagan and most recently with the 21 car of Daryn Pittman. "We enjoyed our sponsorship roles with both of the teams we were associated with, but the situation with Tom gives us stability and a defined future for our program," says Luck. We are looking forward to bringing the additional sponsorship relationships we have cultivated over the years to our new program".
The team will run Maxim chassis powered by Gaerte Race Engines prepared Mopar engines. Joe Gaerte will also act as crew chief and mentor for Wimmer with Bingo Jenkins joining the team as the truck driver and mechanic. Premier Transportation Service Inc., Fairmount, Indiana will join Geringer, Luck and Rode Investments, LLC as primary sponsors. Hoosier, Red Line Oil, Hepfner Racing Products, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Astro Titanium, Kenny's Carbon Fiber Components and XYZ Components will be welcomed to the team and join valued partners ButlerBuilt, Afco Shocks, MPD Components and Real wheels as Associate sponsors.
Brandon will compete at the World of Outlaws season finale races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on November 5th and 6th. "I am anxious to get to Las Vegas and begin preparation for next season", says Wimmer. "There is so much opportunity to learn and improve as a racer and an individual; I can't wait to get started".
