Outlaws Revise Schedule, Points

NORMAN, OK (Sep 3, 2004) - The World of Outlaws Sprint Series announced changes and additions to the 2004 schedule, as well as a revision to the points awarded for the races at Kilgore, TX and Fargo, ND.

SLS Promotions brings the World of Outlaws Sprint Series back to the Ionia Raceway Park in Lake Odessa, MI on Sept. 27, and to the 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS on October 16. The race at Ionia Raceway Park is a makeup of the July 30 rainout. The 81 Speedway show replaces the show originally scheduled for the Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, TX and will mark the return of the Outlaws to 81 Speedway since their last visit in 1991. "We've worked with SLS Promotions in the past, and C. Ray Hall and the 81 Speedway are both well-known in the sport of sprint car racing. It will be a great show," said Craig Cormack, World of Outlaws VP of Race Operations.

The World of Outlaws Sprint Series race on October 22 will take place at Leesville 171 Speedway in Leesville, LA. The race was originally scheduled for Thunder Valley Speedway in Union Hill, LA. Leesville 171 Speedway promoter Michael Hines teamed up with Jackie Thatcher to move the race. "We're excited to have the Outlaws at the Leesville 171 Speedway," said Thatcher. "We moved here from Thunder Valley to give the Outlaws a track that gives the fans the best racing. That's what the Outlaws are all about."

World of Outlaws officials have made a revision to the point standings. The World of Outlaws will award the full "one day show" points for the March 12 race at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, TX. Also, after discussion with the race teams, the World of Outlaws will award full points for the final night of the "Duel in the Dakotas," at Fargo, ND on July 10. The A feature was shortened by rain, with Joey Saldana being declared the winner. All other places will be paid accordingly.
