Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni won in the GTE Pro in their Ferrari 458 Italia GT2. Enzo Potolicchio, Rui Aguas and Matteo Malucelli first in the GTE Am with 8Star Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia GT2.
The race ended in an Audi one, two, three and a Ferrari double in LM GTE as the Italian cars triumphed in both Pro and Am.
The Florida-based organization’s Ferrari F458 Italia led from the third lap and never relinquished control of the race, despite facing strong opposition from the likes of Aston Martin and Corvette.
It was a fine race for GT cars and the perfect dress rehearsal for the next round of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship and the biggest sportscar race in the world – the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The Aston Martin Vantage achieved an average of 2:21.265, just three hundredths of a second ahead of the 8Star Motorsports Ferrari 458 Italia of Matteo Malucelli and Rui Aguas.
Mateo Malucelli, a former Italian GT Champion and runner-up in the 2008 FIA GT Championship, brings nearly a decade of Ferrari experience to the 8Star team.
