September, 19th 2013 - The battle in the FIA World Endurance Championship heats up at the series premiere at Texas, the sixth round of the season. Three weeks after the Aston Martin Racing run Young Driver AMR-Aston Martin Vantage GTE had a brilliant run with an unfortunate end in Brazil, the FIA WEC stops for the first time at the "Circuit of the Americas“ at Austin, the new American home of the Formula 1. After a great debut at Brazil, young Danish talent Nicki Thiim will also be onboard the Aston Martin Vantage in the United States alongside Christoffer Nygaard and Kristian Poulsen.

"We are really happy that Nicki Thiim is with us at Texas after his stunning debut in Brazil, where he impressed Aston Martin Racing and us and was immediately on the pace“, Young Driver AMR´s Jan Struve says. "Nicki will also race with us at the Chinese round in Shanghai and the season finale at Bahrain later this year.“

At the North American round of the FIA WEC, it’s now all or nothing for Young Driver AMR. "We lost big points with the unfortunate end in Brazil three week ago and if we still want to have a chance in the championship, the weekend in Texas is very important“, Christoffer Nygaard says. "There is quite a gap now in the championship between us and the cars in front of the GTE-Am-class and at Austin, we have to score a victory to keep our championship dreams alive. We don’t know the track yet, but it’s new for almost everybody. The track layout looks quite cool and also looks if it suits our Aston Martin quite well.”

The “6h of Circuit of the Americas” start Sunday, 18:00 Hours
