Round two of the FIA World Endurance Championship promises to be thrilling in many aspects. Firstly, REBELLION Racing’s pair of new B12/60 Lola-Toyota coupes will be competing for the first time this year at the famous Spa- Francorchamps circuit. Moreover, the team will be targeting a strong result in the annual Le Mans 24 Hours dress rehearsal that should provide a good insight of what to expect at the season’s highlight in la Sarthe next June.

REBELLION Racing will campaign the new B12/60 Lola-Toyota LMP1 cars after two productive days of testing at Valencia on the 18th and 19th of April. All six REBELLION Racing drivers took to the track over the course of those two days.

With the new cars, the Swiss team will be in a position to make a step forward in terms of performance, after having raced the 2011 spec cars in the opening round of the championship in Sebring.

Much of the bodywork on the cars is new. The front splitter, diffuser and headlight cluster have benefitted from intensive CFD and wind tunnel development. Additional aerodynamic elements have been implemented to improve the efficiency of the car.

Different composite solutions have been used by Lola in order to reduce the weight on some aspects of the bodywork. Lola have also developed changes to the suspension geometry in an effort to compliment the new aero updates.

The B12/60 Lola-Toyotas also feature a brand new air intake and airbox designed to optimise the Toyota RV8KLM engine performance.

REBELLION Racing will also adopt from the Spa round onwards the new 2012 spec tyres from Michelin.

The REBELLION Racing drivers lineup for the second race of the FIA World Endurance Championship will be :

Lola-Toyota #12 : Neel Jani (CH) – Nicolas Prost (F) – Nick Heidfeld (G)

Lola-Toyota #13 : Andrea Belicchi (I) – Harold Primat (CH).

Nicolas Prost was last year’s "petrol" polesitter with the 5th fastest overall qualifying laptime. With four diesel and diesel-hybrid Audi factory cars entered, REBELLION Racing is targeting no less that the same (realistic) result in the qualifying session this year.

As the weather conditions in the Ardennes are sometimes totally unpredictable and this can cause a few surprises in the race, the REBELLION Racing drivers and crew will be ready to deliver the best result possible.

Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team Manager : "We are very much looking forward to seeing how our cars will perform with the new aero and technical packages; we are feeling confident as we have made significant progress with the development work completed in Valencia. The Spa track is always a challenge, and it’s a real pleasure to race there, it’s demanding and technical and the drivers love it. We aim to be in a strong position to score maximum points in the championship … ideally amongst the diesel and diesel-hybrid Audi factory cars !"
