The second-generation Porsche got some track time today at Weissach.
Porsche is getting a good start at it's bid for a win at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The team rolled out its prototype challenger for next season today in Weissach, the company's teast track.
Porsche LMP1 Technical Director Alezander Hitzinger said that the team hit its goals of delivering a car on track before Christmas.
“The roll-out of a new race car is always a milestone, and anticipated with great excitement by everyone involved. It was our target to get the Porsche 919 Hybrid for the 2015 season on its wheels before Christmas, and now we have achieved this.”
While the car was rolled out and demonstrated to a closed group of people, the first real test of the car will be held in late January in Abu Dhabi.
Porsche factory driver Marc Lieb was at the wheel of the 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid.
