Adam and Rees had been sharing the #97 Aston Martin Vantage with Richie Stanaway for the first three rounds of the season, the trio taking third places in class at Spa and Le Mans (the latter among WEC-eligible cars).

However, the British squad has taken the decision to move Darren Turner across to join Stanaway in the #97 car in a reduced two-driver line-up, leaving the #95 car to the Danish duo of Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen.

Aston Martin said in a statement that the move was designed to "increase track time per driver" and create "fewer compromises in their driving positions".

"With the second half of the season due to begin, we have had to consider what is best for the team," said AMR team principal Paul Howarth.

"With a focused driver lineup, this should help give us the best possible chance of success this year. I hope that Nicki, Marco, Darren and Richie will continue to push hard and keep us at the top of the GT manufacturers table.

"I'd like to thank Fernando and Jonny for their efforts this year, particularly on their sterling job at Le Mans. They have each put in fantastic performances and we look forward to continuing to work with them in our wider Aston Martin Racing activities."

Aston Martin's sole GTE Am class entry, the #98 of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy and Mathias Lauda, will remain with an unchanged line-up.
