FIA WEC, “Spa 6H” qualifying session: second fastest time for the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 driven by Fisichella-Bruni (GTE Pro) and for the Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 of Perazzini-Cioci-Griffin (GTE Am)
SPA, May 4th – Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni, on AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 (#51) set the second best time in GTE Pro in the qualifying session of the “Spa 6 Hours”, second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
The Roman teammates have shown to be very fast during all the free practices (Friday) and today have gained the second place on the race grid. Andrea Bertolini and Olivier Beretta, on AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 #71, have the fifth place of the GTE Pro category at the race start of tomorrow.
As well in GTE Am, there are positive results. Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci and Matt Griffin on 458 Italia GT2 #81 are in the front row of the category thanks to the second best lap in the qualifying session. Robert Kauffman, Rui Aguas and Brian Vickers, on AF-Waltrip Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 #61 (AF Waltrip is a joint effort by the AF Corse team and NASCAR’s Michael Waltrip Racing) are in sixth position on the starting grid.
