Ferrari among the stars of the Festival of Speed
Maranello – The Goodwood Festival of Speed, since 1993, one of the most prestigious gatherings of historic racing and sports cars, which always draws a huge crowd from around the world, took place this weekend in England.
Marc Gene was one of the main attractions at the event tackling the famous hillclimb in the grounds of Goodwood House, West Sussex at the wheel of the F10, the car that contested last year’s Formula 1 World Championship. After driving the hill yesterday, Gene, who works on development for the Scuderia from Maranello had his second run today in front of a huge crowd who flocked to this event, which is considered an un-missable date on the calendar to experience the passion and history of the motor car.
Prancing Horse cars were also represented, including the new FF, the most powerful four seater, four wheel drive car ever built by Ferrari, the extreme sports car, the 458 Italia and the convertible 8 cylinder Ferrari California. There were also several classic Ferrari, including a unique 1953 375 MM, a magnificent 1968 Tasman 246 and a superb 1973 312 B3.
The Goodwood weekend also served as a curtain kaiser to a rather more demandino sporting event in the UK, as this week, starting on Friday 8 July, the Formula 1 engines will fire up for pratice for the British Grand Prix, the ninth round of the World Championship.
