Classic Cycle Racing and Stunt Bikes on Track at Road America
Elkhart Lake, Wis., June 11, 2008 -- The Road America Vintage Motorcycle Weekend, June 13-15, 2008, will showcase a variety of classic to modern racing motorcycles in both racing and stunt show formats. On the 4-mile track, the AHRMA / Michigan Engineering Historic Cup National Roadrace Series will hold 20 races, featuring vintage race bikes from the 1920s to the early 1970s, vintage superbikes from the 1970s and 1980s, and modern race groups in Sound of Singles, Battle of Twins, Sound of Thunder Single and Twin and Three-Cylinder Machines. The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) is dedicated to preserving the heritage of racing motorcycles and promotes this heritage through events at legendary race circuits.
Stuntwars, one of the nation's largest stunt cycle competitions, will compete on Road America's Briggs & Stratton Motorplex on Saturday and Sunday. Riders will wow spectators with amazing one-wheel and two- wheel stunts in four groups: Individual Freestyle, Endo, Team and Tandem. Sunday's show will include an afternoon performance by rap artist Bubba Sparxxx.
Tickets for the AHRMA event can be purchased after 7 a.m. at the Main Gate on Hwy 67. Admission is $15 on Friday, $25 on Saturday and $25 on Sunday. Tickets for Stuntwars can be purchased at Gate 4 on Cty. Trk. J. Admission to Stuntwars is $15 on Saturday, $20 on Sunday and $30 for the weekend. Children 12 and under are free at both events when accompanied by a paying adult.
