CLASSIC F1 CARS RETURN TO MOSPORT FOR VINTAGE FESTIVAL

(BOWMANVILLE, ON -- June 21, 2007) Mosport's famed road course came alive today with the sounds of classic Formula 1 race cars as drivers turned laps in preparation for their race on Sunday at Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada's (VARAC) 28th Annual Vintage Racing Festival, which officially gets underway tomorrow and runs through the weekend (June 22-24).

Among the legendary Formula 1 machines on track today was the Wolf F1 WR3, piloted by Retired Major General Lewis MacKenzie and the famous Shadow F1 DN8, driven by Scott Beath of Port Perry, Ontario.

A grid of Formula 1 cars is returning to Mosport to compete in a feature race being held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix on the track where it all began in 1967 as part of the country's centennial celebration.

In addition to the F1 racers, races featuring classic cars of all kinds will run on Mosport's 4 kilometre road course during the Festival, including vintage production sports and GT cars, all the way up to 60s and 70s muscle cars and late model roadsters.
