The "Historic Formula Atlantic Association" is very proud to announce that the "Musee Gilles-Villenueve" has joined our association.
Alain Bellehumeur, General Manager of the museum, stated in a phone call today to the association, that their membership form was in the mail.
Alain is trying desperately to raise funds to restore one of Gilles' Formula Atlantic cars to race condition, in order for the car to be part of the first HFAA event at the Grand Prix du Trois-Riviers, as they celebrate the 35th anniversary of the circuit.
"Having one of the cars that legendary driver Gilles Villeneuve drove in his Formula Atlantic days, taking part in the Grand Prix du Trois-Riveres would be the icing on the cake", quoted HFAA founding spokesman, Bill Brack, "for this, the 35th Anniversary of his home track."
People interested in helping Alain restore the car should send donations to the Musee Gilles - Villeneuve at 960 Ave Gilles - Villeneuve, Berthierville, Quebec, Canada. J0K 1A0. Donations large or small should be directed to the "Restoration of Gilles Villeneuve car".
The HFAA is now actively looking for drivers and cars for their first race at the "Grand Prix du Trois-Rivieres" on 1st August , 2004. Interested parties should contact the HFAA by e-mail, or phone, as listed below.
Please spread the word.
