Injured Bright Replaced For Today's Race
Cameron McConville will replace Jason Bright for Team BOC in this afternoon's race at Symmons Plains Raceway.
Bright is suffering from costochondral separation, where the rib is torn loose from the costal cartilage. He completed this morning's qualifying but says the pain seriously compromised his performance.
Dr Carl Le, V8 Supercars' resident doctor, has organised for treatment in Melbourne this week and he and Bright are hopeful he will be fit for racing at Sandown Raceway next weekend.

"I'm gutted. I've never been in so much pain and it just totally compromised that qualifying session. I've had injuries before and the adrenalin takes over and you don't feel it in the race car, but this time it just totally dominated my whole session. Every bump, gear change and braking zone I felt. I couldn't drive anywhere near where I needed to.
"We're going to get a whole heap of tests done and Dr Carl says there are some treatments we can try. We need to get stuck into that immediately to see where we are come next Friday."
Brad Jones
Co-Owner, Team BOC
"Since we found out that Jason had torn cartilage yesterday we thought we would be in a bit of trouble today. I've had one before and it's a very painful injury. It's just too hard on his right side to complete qualifying, let alone a race.
"It's great of Cameron to step into the fold. He's part of the family so it's great to have him back."
