Lowndes dominates at home track with double victory

TeamVodafone have once again enjoyed the spoils of a 1-2 finish with Craig Lowndes claiming the number one spot of the day ahead of Jamie Whincup after today's two 22 lap races at the Coates Hire Ipswich 300.

Lowndes, who topped yesterday's practice session continued to dominate today's on track sessions, claiming pole position and both race victories.

While Lowndes flourished, Whincup struggled throughout Qualifying and started fourth on the grid for Race 16.

The Championship leader made up a position in the first race, passing Rick Kelly to secure third.

In the final race Whincup passed Slade to take second and maintain his the Championship lead, 170 points clear of teammate Lowndes.

The Coates Hire Ipswich 300 will conclude tomorrow with qualifying for Race 18 at 11.20am (AEST) ahead of the final 200km race of the weekend to get underway at 3.05pm (AEST).
