V8 Ute drivers don blue singlets for Deni Ute Muster

Racing Utes from the Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series -- protected by Armor All will head down to New South Wales for the annual Deni Ute Muster 2 -- 3 October 2009.

Each year thousands of Ute owners head to Deniliquin, NSW for the Plains Festival on the Labour Day Long Weekend to take part in a world record breaking attempt for the largest parade of legally registered Utes and blue singlets.

This year V8 Ute drivers Kim Jane, Craig Dontas and former driver James Brock will be making appearances at the festival to conduct signing sessions and perform and judge at the circle work competition.

In addition to the driver appearances, the cars driven by Kim Jane, Craig Dontas, Paul Williams (Brock Race Engineering) and Ray Sidebottom will be on display.

Kim Jane is looking forward to making his second consecutive appearance at the Deni Ute Muster. When asked about his experience at last year's Ute Muster Jane said:

"It was educational and I was surprised at how big it was. There was a good, fun environment with great entertainment and a diverse range of people."

Jane will be racing at the Bathurst 1000 the following weekend, which he says, is the "holy grail of our motorsport".

Dontas will make his first appearance at the Ute Muster, which is one on the long list of travelling stops he has made with partners Thirsty Camel.

"I'm really excited to attend the event, we were just in Alice Springs and the Ute Muster should be a great event," said Dontas.

Currently ninth in the Series, the South Aussie is keen to get to the Bathurst track.

"We're definitely looking to move up the ranks from our current position. We've had a bit of bad luck with the Camel being hit a few times but last year was our first time there and we improved every race we had. Our fastest lap time was the second last lap in the final race and with a team I've been with for over 12 months now we are looking to improve even more," said Dontas.

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and Round 7 of the 2009 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series, protected by Armor All will kick off Thursday, 8th October with Practice 1 at 9:25am and Practice 2 at 5pm.

Race 2 and 3 will be televised live on Network Seven, Saturday, 10th October and Sunday, 11th October consecutively.
