Australian V8 Racing Utes Get Fast & Furious

Cars and Drivers from the 2009 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series have been all the rage off the track of late.

Over the weekend V8 Utes Racing were involved in the QLD Launch of the new Universal Pictures Movie, Fast & Furious New Model Original Parts in cinema's April 16.

The Utes were on display at Warner Brothers Movie World on the Gold Coast Sunday 5 April for the launch and will also be on display outside Birch Carol and Coyle Cinema's, Pacific Fair next Wednesday, 15 April for the preview of the movie.

Warner Brothers Movie Worlds Brand Manager, Meagan Miller was pleased with the outcome of the Launch.

"The Utes were fantastic, the whole afternoon ran smoothly Race Driver Greg Willis and his offsider Hans were fantastic to deal with as was Race Driver Ryal Harris, everyone loved the movie and the after party was a smash hit (and looked amazing)," said Miller.

The Utes have also been spotted in New South Wales recently.

Reigning Champion Layton Cranbrook's Maxibon Bits car was on display accompanying Clutch Industries (the official clutch supplier for the Series), exhibit at Darling Harbour in Sydney last weekend for the AAA Trade Show.

Other partners that were present at the event were; Century Batteries and Disc Brakes Australia (DBA), who just took out the Manufacturer of the Year Award in the Automotive After Market Association for the eighth time.

Australian V8 Ute Racing representative Mr Bill West is ecstatic that DBA have been recognised for their brakes and believes they are an asset to the Ute Series. "DBA Brakes are control components in both the Ford and Holden Utes competing in the Series and along with our competitors I would recommend the Brakes be used on any car - they are on my Road car too!" said West.

West is also delighted that the Utes have been featured at some impressive events and venues.

"It's great that the V8 Utes have been involved in so many exciting events this year; like Top Gear, Fast & Furious and the AAA event," said West.
