MAIDEN WIN FOR MCNALLY IN V8 UTES

Glenn McNally scored his first win in the V8 Utes category with a flag to flag performance in race 2 at Victoria's Winton Raceway today.

Starting from the front row of the reverse-top-16 race, courtesy of finishing 15th in the opening race, Glenn took control of proceedings from the green flag onwards.

"I am absolutely stoked," Glenn said.

"We have worked hard for a result like this, it is extremely hard to win any race at this level and it feels so good to cross the line first."

"I got off the line well, got a bit of wheel spin but flat changed to second gear which gave me the lead into the first turn.

"It was really a matter of one corner at a time -- there is a lot of pressure when you are in the lead and the race felt really long.

"I want to thank the guys at Hi Tech Racing and all the West Coast Racing sponsors for sticking with us throughout, without them we could not be doing this."

The win, along with his 15th in race 1 put Glenn on grid 8 for the final race.

"I lost a few positions at the start," Glenn said.

"But I was able to get them back again as the race went on and ended where I started -- eighth."

Glenn ended up 8th for the weekend and added to his 10th at Adelaide it cements him well in the top ten of the series.

"A few guys ahead of me in the series had bad rounds this weekend so I might jump up in the points."

Glenn's next race is at Tasmania's Symmons Plains Raceway at the end of May.
