MCNALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO CHALLENGE OF TOWNSVILLE STREETS
Glenn McNally heads to Townsville this weekend for the Queensland city's very first street race in what is expected to be a tight battle on the concrete lined circuit.
After his best round result to date, at Darwin two weeks ago, Glenn is looking forward to the challenges of a new street circuit which has not been driven by anyone before.
"It will be a real challenge this weekend," Glenn said.
"Nobody has raced here before so it will be a matter of who can get up to speed the quickest in the single practice session before qualifying on Saturday."
With fourth place at Darwin and Glenn's first race win at Winton the round before, the West Australian has high expectations this weekend.
"I feel confident in the car speed and what I can get out of myself,"
"I am no longer looking to get in the top sixteen in qualifying but am looking at how far into the top five I can get."
Glenn currently sits eighth in the series points and is hoping to push towards the top five in the next few rounds.
"If I can keep getting strong result I will be able to put a lot of pressure on the guys ahead of me in the series.
"The more races we do the easier it is getting for me to come to grips with new circuits in a shorter period of time."
Glenn has practice on Friday, qualifying and race 1 on Saturday with Race 2 and 3 on Sunday.
