MCNALLY HEADS NORTH VOR V8 UTES BATTLE IN THE TROPICS

Glenn McNally heads to Darwin this weekend for Round 4 of the V8 Utes Series in what marks one year since the West Australian upgraded to a VE Ute.

With a full season of racing under his belt in the VE Glenn will be looking to capitalise on that experience when he returns to the circuit that holds bitter sweet memories for him.

"Last year was a mile-stone for me at Darwin," Glenn said.

"I really got the most from the car and was looking good for a podium until I made an error in the last race.

"It was one of those things that you just keep in the mind until you can return and make amends."

Glenn currently sits tenth in the series points even though he was struck with a poor result in race 2 last round at Simmons Plains after he received a puncture.

"You expect to receive a bit of bad luck every now and then, hopefully that was mine for a while."

It will be a big weekend for Glenn with many of his sponsors making the trip north from Perth in what has become an annual pilgrimage for the supporters of West Coast Racing.

"I am grateful of the support of all my sponsors and when they come to the track it is just that little bit more special," Glenn said.

"Let's hope that I can give them a strong result; I will definitely be giving it my all."

Glenn has practice on Friday, qualifying and race 1 on Saturday with race 2 and 3 on Sunday.
