UK TEAM PRINCIPAL JOINS TEAM BETTA ELECTRICAL FOR DARWIN V8 SUPERCAR EVENT
Brisbane's Team Betta Electrical will welcome Triple Eight Race Engineering's UK Team Principal Ian Harrison to the fold for round six of the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship Series at Darwin's Hidden Valley circuit this weekend.
With Team Betta Electrical's Team Principal, Roland Dane currently in Europe, Harrison will assume the role of team Race Director for this weekends Hidden Valley event.
Triple Eight Race Engineering who prepares both Team Betta Electrical Falcon's of Craig Lowndes and Steve Ellery has a wide international operational base and common links with Triple Eight Race Engineering in the United Kingdom.
Harrison has acted as Race Director for Team Betta Electrical previously at Oran Park in 2004 and says is looking forward to seeing the team in action at Hidden Valley
"The team has certainly come along way since I was last here," Harrison said.
"They have a lot more pace now and are consistently running at the front.
"The team is very professional and are capable of running the show while Roland is away; I am here because sometimes you need a senior person to plug up the holes when need be," he added.
Harrison a founding Director of Triple Eight Race Engineering in 1996 has enjoyed immense success with the companies BTCC programme
Harrison's illustrious motorsport career spans two decades and includes many achievements such as team manger for the Williams Renault Formula One team where he achieved triple world championship success.
In other news Triple Eight Race Engineering will officially launch the Team Betta Auction site this Sunday
The auction site will provide race fans around Australia with the chance to purchase some absolutely unique memorabilia from the team. .
The Team Betta auction site will commence with two items a very rare Craig Lowndes driving suit worn during the 2005 Clipsal 500 and Lowndes bonnet from Race 3 at the Shanghai International 2005.
Each item will remain online for ten days before being replaced by other rare items.
