Leading V8 Supercar team Triple Eight Race Engineering today announced the unveiling of their state of the art LG. Advanced Technical Centre.
Team principal, Roland Dane, together with head of LG. Australia JM Lee, chairman of Betta Stores Limited Patrick Tynan, CEO of BSL Guy Houghton along with other dignitaries gathered at the teams race centre in Brisbane today to officially open the new facility.
"This marks the beginning of a new era for the team and its assault on the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship" - said Roland Dane.
"With the assistance of both LG. Electronics and our partners Betta Stores Ltd., we are able to provide our team of engineers with the most sophisticated and advanced technical centre, equal to any of the leading Motorsport teams around the world" - he said.
"We have chosen the very latest software products available these include "Autodesk Inventor", "MSC Nastran ", "Patran and "MSCVisual Nastran 4D", all of which will contribute greatly to both the design and construction of the teams new BA Ford Falcons for the V8 Supercars 2004 season" - Dane concluded.
JM Lee head of LG. Electronics Australia was invited to cut the ribbon and officially open the new centre in front of an audience of eighty invited guests.
"LG. is proud to be associated with Team Betta Electrical and their focus to win the Australian V8 Supercar Championship, we consider it an honour to be supplying the superior range of LG. electronic flat screen monitors along with the latest LG. plasma large screen television equipment for the new 'Advanced Technical Centre' in order to achieve that goal" - said Mr Lee.
Chairman of Betta Stores Limited Patrick Tynan said, "We are now approaching the end of the company's second season of involvement in the V8 Supercar Series and we have been very pleased with the results so far, however with both the opening of this new design facility and the involvement of the new team owners, Triple Eight Race Engineering out of the United Kingdom, the company feels the team will now move to the next level of this very competitive Motorsport series".
"The company has prospered greatly through its brand identification with the team as its major sponsor partner and we can only see this increasing with the new direction the team has in place for the 2004 season" - said Mr Tynan.
CEO. of Betta Stores, Guy Houghton reiterated the chairman's comments, adding "The company will continue its close association and support for the team by giving assistance where possible in order to jointly lift the team into a championship winning position for the 2004 season".
