DAY ONE UNDER THE BELT FOR MCNALLY
V8 Supercar debutant Mark McNally has had his first drive behind the wheel of the #16 Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore in practice for the Dunlop Townsville 400 in far north Queensland today.
McNally took to the brand new track with a degree of caution, keen to ensure he benefited from maximum track time as he learned both a new circuit and new car.
The West Australian will make his first start in the V8 Supercar Championship Series tomorrow and has set himself the goal of running a clean and consistent race and finishing with a straight Hi-Tec Oils Commodore.
Will Davison was fastest in practice today ahead of Michael Caruso and Jason Richards.
WHAT MARK HAD TO SAY ...
Mark McNally - #16 Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore:
"My goal today was just to get out there and start to learn the Hi-Tec Oils Commodore and we achieved that," said McNally.
"We made some progress and started to get some reasonable gains. There is still a long way to go but now I've got a base to work from and improve on.
"I've already got an idea of a few things we can do better tomorrow and we will just gradually push forward and take it one step at a time."
