CAMERON McLean's Paragon Motorsport team has re-signed fellow Queenslander Tony Scott as co-driver for the V8 Supercar endurance races after a back injury forced Peter Doulman to step down.

Scott originally was chosen to drive for the team in January, but withdrew later due to business commitments.

He was persauded to return to the Brisbane outfit when it became clear during testing at Queensland Raceway last Thursday that Doulman's lower back was unlikely to endure the rigours of the Queensland 500 and Bathurst 1000.

"It's extremely disappointing. Peter is highly experienced, especially at Bathurst, and would have done a great job for us, but these are tough races and you can't blame him for not wanting to aggravate his injury," Paragon team manager Ross Dillon said.

"However, we are fortunate that Scotty has found a way to re-join the team. I'm more than happy with him as a replacement and hope we can now get on undistracted with the task of final preparation for Queensland."

In addition to V.I.P. Pet Foods, the Paragon Motorsport Ford Falcon V8 Supercar is sponsored by All Power Steering, Eibach Springs, Freightliner Trucks, Jade Engineering, PPG Paints, Revolution Racegear, Screen Offset Printing, Snap-on Tools, Spandex, Street Smart Designs, Wurth and Cox Lawn Care Products.
