'WE'VE GOT OUR MOJO BACK'
There are no prizes for practice but Team BOC's Jason Bright is cautiously optimistic that finishing second-fastest today is a good sign for the weekend.
After starting the year with an impressive podium at Abu Dhabi, the team encountered problems in Adelaide and New Zealand but is still within 160 points of second place in the championship.
Barbagallo Raceway has a difficult track surface but Bright has won here in all conditions and hopes a good weekend will propel him right back into the championship battle.
Qualifying begins tomorrow at 10.50am.
"We did a pretty good job to get up there today but Perth's been good to me in the past. I won here on the slippery surface in 2002 and again in 2004 after it had just been resurfaced.
"We've under-performed this year compared to what I expected us to be able to do. I was amazed when we left Hamilton still in 11th place in the championship. I couldn't have written that round any worse for us and Adelaide didn't go that well either.
"To still be in shooting distance of the leaders is awesome. Hopefully we've started off on the right foot here today and we can keep up our momentum."
"Fantastic job! It looks like we've got our mojo back. Certainly after New Zealand, it's nice to come out of practice back on top of things."
