Wilson revved up about Mt Panorama's speed.
Wilson arrived at the Mt Panorama circuit yesterday and immediately set off in a road car to put in eight laps in order get a feel for this very demanding race circuit.
"I like the feel of the circuit said Max, there are some nice fast corners and straights with the climb up the mountain and across the top very exhilarating, I am really looking forward to this event he said.
I have heard so much about this race, even when I was racing in Europe drivers used to talk about it as the great race and now I'm here to experience it first - hand, I can't wait for Sunday to come around, commented Wilson.
Tony Longhurst has passed on to me a lot of his experience of racing on this circuit and when you know Tony is the defending champion this year, so I really pay attention to what he tells me, he has won this event twice now which says a lot for his ability.
It is nice of Tony to give me advise because come Sunday both myself and Dean Canto will be racing against Tony and his partner Mathew White in the other Team Betta Electrical car 66.
I love this race said Tony Longhurst, it would have to rate as my favourite and I trust I can equal last year's result of a win, only this year it will be in a Ford.
The important part of Bathurst is for Mathew and I to be consistent and not do anything silly but to stroke the car along and be in a good position in the closing stages, it's a long race and you need to pace yourself, the cars are strong and the team is ready to roll, said Longhurst.
Practice today saw both Team Betta Electrical cars perform competitively with Longhurst / White circulating at ninth fastest with a lap time of 2:12.01, followed by Wilson / Canto in car 65 posting sixteenth fastest time with a 2:12.60.
Tomorrow will see a second practice session and qualifying a little later in the afternoon.
