Character building weekend for Marshall in Tasmania
Marcus Marshall has finished 24th in the eighth race of the 2009 V8 Supercar Series after the Team IntaRacing driver struggled to find pace during the final leg of the Falken Tasmanian Challenge at Symmons Plains Raceway today.
Marshall originally made up seven positions during today's 84 lap race, however a post race penalty handed down for an incident involving Jason Richards saw the Team IntaRacing driver fall to 24th.
"We've been on the pace all year and I guess everybody has one really bad race once in a while and unfortunately today was it for us," Marshall said.
"We really learnt a lot more about the car again this weekend and we will go away and apply our new found knowledge in Darwin in a few weeks time."
"It was fantastic to have Sherrin Rentals signage on the car for the weekend and I would just like to thank them for all of their support over the last week - it has certainly provided the team with a good injection of enthusiasm after a few challenging weeks."
Team Manager, Keith Evers said the trip to Tasmania was one of the toughest experienced by the team.
"We really struggled to find the correct setup all weekend," Evers said, "We used our soft tyre today and kept with our previous strategy but unfortunately the car just didn't have the pace. We will go back to the workshop and gather everything together and get back into gear for Darwin."
"I would like to thank Sherrin Rentals and the Sherrin Group for all their support this weekend -it has been great having them on the car."
The next stop of the 2009 V8 Supercar Series will be Darwin's Hidden Valley Raceway on June 19 - 21.
