Wilson and Longhurst ready to scorch the Indy circuit.
The two Team Betta Electrical V8 Supercars took to the Surfers Paradise Circuit today in the two practice sessions and qualifying for tomorrow's Race One of 22 laps.
Wilson's first practice session was interrupted this morning with a minor electrical problem only allowing him to complete two laps. Longhurst, driving Car 66 managed eleven laps posting a time of 1:55.50. Neither of the cars were handling at their peak and required adjustment of the suspension prior to second practice session.
Longhurst in Car 66 was Black-Flagged twice in this session for jumping kerbs, resulting in the loss of his two fastest laps.
Wilson only managed to make up two positions to 21st fastest with a time of 1:54.04.
Qualifying saw a marked improvement in the performance with Wilson again making it into the Top Ten. Wilson posted a time of 1:51.83 placing him in ninth position on the grid for tomorrow's race.
Longhurst is placed 18th on the grid, posting a time of 1:52.39. Longhurst is still not completely happy with the set-up of the car, however changes will be made overnight to improve its handling characteristics. Both drivers are eagerly looking forward to tomorrow's race.
