Scott McLaughlin earns pole position for Auckland finale

Scott McLaughlin's lap of 1:03.163s was enough to earn him pole position for the final race of the weekend in New Zealand.

Just 0.12s separated the entire top five at the conclusion of qualifying. Jamie Whincup will join him on the front row.

Scott Pye and David Reynolds make up the second row. Reynolds escaped major damage after an off in Turn 4 earlier in the session.

Michael Caruso led the way in the first half of the qualifying session, but was shuffled back to fifth when cars exited the pit lane for their final runs.
