Temperatures soared at Winton Motor Raceway today as Lockwood Racing’s Fabian Coulthard took to the track for the penultimate 2012 V8 Supercar round.

Coulthard, who currently sits 10th in the Championship, sat out this morning’s first two practice sessions, which took place in cooler conditions and so saw some of the fastest times of the day.

He finished tenth in the day’s final session, which includes all teams and drivers, putting him 12th overall when the earlier times are taken into consideration.

V8 Supercars will be on track from 13.25 tomorrow afternoon for qualifying and race 27 is 47-laps and starts at 16.05.

Fabian Coulthard, Lockwood Racing: “Pretty much all the teams ran their green tyres in the last ten or so minutes of P4, so it was a sprint to see who could do some quick laps.

"Same old story, but a great result here always comes down to tyre quality and strategy so we’ll have to put some thought into that tonight because tomorrow is the day that matters.”
