PERKINS LOOKS TO SUNDAY AFTER SOLID RUN IN QUEENSLAND

Dodo Racing Team driver Jack Perkins is looking forward to Sunday's second race of the Queensland House and Land.com 300 after posting a 23rd place finish at Queensland Raceway today.

Perkins started from 24th place aboard the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore, making a solid start to today's 33-lap race.

Perkins lost some ground in the pits with a slight delay in pit lane, but was able to avoid obstacles such as a significant oil spill on the circuit to bring home the Dodo Commodore in 23rd place.

While he celebrated his 23rd birthday today in Ipswich, Perkins saved his softer Sprint tyres for tomorrow's 65-lap race.

Jamie Whincup won today's opening race of the Queensland House and Land.com 300 at Queensland Raceway ahead of James Courtney and Mark Winterbottom.

WHAT JACK HAD TO SAY --

Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"I guess it was good to finish with a straight Dodo Commodore and get another finish for the whole team," said Perkins.

"It is a little bit disappointing. We had a slow pit stop, which ultimately cost us track position.

"We've got good tyres tomorrow and I'm looking forward to using them to our advantage and trying to finish right up there."
