NEW SPONSOR AND NEW ENGINEER FOR PERKINS IN QUEENSLAND
Dodo Racing Team driver Jack Perkins will welcome aboard two exciting editions to the efforts of the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore at the Queensland House and Land.com 300 at Queensland Raceway in Ipswich this weekend.
Perkins will carry new backing from Corporate Security Solutions on the bonnet of his #11 Dodo Holden Commodore this weekend, helping to launch the new security brand.
As well as the additional backing, the Dodo Racing Team crew will boast a new engineer at Queensland Raceway, with James Small joining Kelly Racing to take up duties as the Race Engineer for Perkins' #11 Dodo Holden Commodore.
Clinton Stephen, General Manager of Corporate Security Solutions, said that the relationship with Kelly Racing was an important part of launching the company's newest brand.
"We are very pleased to have partnered with Kelly Racing to assist us in launching our new brand, Corporate Security Solutions," said Stephen.
"Kelly Racing is an extremely professional outfit and something we see as a great representation of our business."
The addition of Small to Kelly Racing's engineering department is a coup for the first year team and gives the Dodo Racing Team both a second-generation driver and race engineer.
A former Formula Ford racer himself, Small is following in the footsteps of father Les, who has built and engineered many successful racing cars in this country, including the 1986 Bathurst winner of Allan Grice.
"To secure someone of the calibre of James to engineer our Dodo Commodore is a real coup for our team," said Perkins.
"I've known James for a long time as we have both grown up around racing and come up through the ranks in karting and Formula Ford.
"I'm really looking forward to working with James and the entire Dodo crew in Queensland. It's our final event before the endurance races so we're really keen to have a good round and get geared up for the important Phillip Island and Bathurst races.
"I really enjoy the Queensland track. I know it's not every driver's favourite but I think it's a challenging layout in many ways and I've run well there in the past.
"I'm looking forward to this weekend's event. Hopefully we can get our best result yet for everyone at Dodo, Accu-chek, Corporate Security Solutions and all of our great sponsors."
