PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Drivers Jason Richards and Andy Jones today ran through a series of set-up changes to the Team BOC car and, despite Phillip Island's changing weather conditions, reported good progress.

The pair ended the day 16th fastest but both are confident of big improvements tomorrow, when they will use their first set of fresh tyres.

The team has another two practice sessions tomorrow morning before qualifying for the L&H 500 begins at 11.30.

Jason Richards
Team BOC
"I think we're going OK. I didn't really like it on the used tyres and we're still tuning the car; it's definitely not 100%. We're trying a lot of new things from what we found at the test but it's hard with the limited dry running to really assess them. We only just got into it right at the end.

"Andy went extremely well; he had very strong pace even on the used tyres and I think our combination will be really good."

Andrew Jones
Team BOC Co-Driver
"I drove the car when it was wet in Practice One and I did two laps in the dry. The thing was pretty good in the wet; if it rains on Sunday then it's pretty good for us!

"It's amazing; you forget how intense the out-lap is and how many people want to race you to the finish line! I got myself a bit of a gap on my dry lap but the car had a bit of under-steer. The changes they made were better for me but it rained again so I couldn't really gauge my pace."
