MIXED RESULTS FOR FPR IN OPENING GRAND FINALE RACE

November 26, 2005 - Ford Performance Racing (FPR) drivers Jason Bright and David Brabham have endured a mixed day of results following today's Bigpond Grand Finale qualifying session and opening race.

After qualifying 3rd today and topping the Phillip Island practice timesheets on Friday, CAT FPR Falcon driver Jason Bright finished a disappointing 31st following a pit lane accident with Greg Murphy that eventually led to his front splitter falling off the car, forcing him back into the pits for repairs. A pit lane drive through penalty for the incident with Murphy eroded any chance of a points earning result.

Ford Credit FPV Falcon driver David Brabham enjoyed a fast paced race that combined with some fast pit work saw him race from 15th on the starting grid to 11th by the end of the 23 lap race. This places the international Sportscar racer in a stronger starting position for tomorrow's first of two 32 lap races to decide the round.

#5 David Brabham - "I am pleased with this result. It was all a bit action packed during the opening laps - I got quite a big hit and thought that the car was damaged, but these cars are really quite bullet-proof compared to what I am used to. I had some rear grip problems early on and as the race went on the car improved. We had a good pit stop strategy and 11th was a strong points earning result for the team."

#6 Jason Bright - "I'm disappointed with the race as we had good pace and I think that at least we should have finished 4th. I didn't get off the line as good as I would have liked but we were very strong early in the race. The biggest mistake we made was hitting Murphy when exiting the pit bay, giving ourselves a drive through penalty. The car certainly does not deserve to be at the back of the grid tomorrow."

FPR Motorsport Director Tim Edwards - "A great drive by David, he completed his objective of making up places during the race and he also took advantage of some great pit work that helped him move up the order. We are obviously very disappointed about Jason's race, as once again we have showed the car pace but we weren't able to turn that into a strong result."
