PERKINS AND WOOD P15 IN PHILLIP ISLAND PRACTICE

Dodo Racing Team drivers Jack Perkins and Dale Wood are encouraged by their pace after setting the 15th fastest time in practice for the L&H 500 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Victoria today.

Perkins and Wood worked closely together to establish a sound race set-up on the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore, braving the blistery conditions at the southern Victorian venue.

Tomorrow will see separate practice, qualifying and qualifying heat races for each driver to determine the starting grid for Sunday's L&H 500.

Mark Winterbottom set the fastest time in practice today ahead of Jamie Whincup and the Brad Jones Racing Commodore of Jason Richards and Cameron McConville.

DODO RACING TEAM QUOTEBOARD

Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"We had an interesting day with the Dodo Commodore," said Jack Perkins.

"It was not where we wanted to end up but I think we have made some good gains for tomorrow.

"Dale and I are driving the car pretty similarly so I am really looking forward to tomorrow and improving on our 15th place today."

Dale Wood - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"It was a good first day, so we did a lot with set-up, probably not where we want to be at the moment and these new tyres seem to have made quite a difference to the handing of the car," said Dale Wood.

"We need to get on top of that. Otherwise it was a good first day, the Dodo Commodore held together well. Hopefully it is all upwards from here."
